Health Education Conference: The Foundation's educational activities focus on delivering information to promote community awareness and healthier living.

Attracting guest faculty and participants from around the world, the Straub Foundation conferences provide new advances and the latest research on prevention, treatment and management of health topics of interest to health professionals and the general public.

  1. Health Professionals:
Each year, the Foundation assesses the community health care needs and organizes major conferences on selected topics for health professionals with a community-wide organizing committee of physicians and other health professionals.

  2. General Public:
Since 1994, the Foundation has organized one-day public meetings presented in everyday language by guest lecturers and local faculty.

Community Outreach Program: In 1997, the Straub Foundation launched a community outreach program, taking its health education programs directly into under-served rural communities.

Examples of community outreach programs include:

  1. Keiki Asthma Fair: A program targeted to children diagnosed with asthma featuring unique asthma modules and a mini-olympics.

  2. Sports Fest: A program to promote the importance of physical activities and prevention of sports injuries through sports clinics led by guest coaches and interactive workshops.

  3. Health in Paradise: A weekly health education program on public TV.
