The Foundation's educational activities focus on delivering information to promote community awareness and healthier living.

Attracting guest faculty and participants from around the world, the Straub Foundation enjoys a growing reputation as a sponsor of educational programs for the community. It presents information on new research and improved practices and advances in the prevention and management of medical problems. Each year, the Foundation assesses the community health care needs and organizes major conferences on selected topics for health professionals, followed by a special program for the entire community featuring the guest faculty. Past programs covered subjects ranging from rheumatology to vascular disease, managing medical problems of the elderly and diabetes in Hawaii.

Other activities include the Burn Education Program, established in 1989, to educate the public about the prevention and treatment of burns. The Speakers Bureau shares the expertise of physicians, researchers, and other health professionals with many community groups.

The Foundation's educational activities include the Summer Student Research Program designed for university level students and the  Fellowship Program for residents and post-residency physicians. These programs expose participants to hands-on experience in clinical research projects under the mentorship of the Medical Director and research investigators.
